Effective Sept. 16th 2003, SpamDetective has been transferred to Lyris Technologies, Inc. who will market the software under the product name MailShield Desktop.

The program will remain basically the same and we will ensure full continuity to all users who have licensed SpamDetective in the past. This includes preserving your current configuration when installing the new product (see below), validity of your current license code and of course you will receive ongoing updates and support through either Lyris or EmTec.

Upgrade instructions for licensed users: Please do not uninstall SpamDetective. Download MailShield Desktop from the Lyris website. Go through the installation steps and install MailShield into its own directory. Upon first start, MailShield will offer to import your SpamDetective settings. You will then find the usual user interface. Then enter your SpamDetective license code in the Help menu and close MailShield. From that point you can run, configure or uninstall both products independently.
